Our packages: how much do donor eggs cost?

Donor egg packages typically cost between €7,500 and €9,500, depending on the number of eggs required. At European Egg Bank, we offer two packages designed to balance cost, flexibility, and success rates. We recommend discussing your needs with your fertility clinic to help you choose the most suitable package for your situation.

What am I paying for when I buy donor eggs?

The price of donor eggs covers everything required to retrieve, screen and store the eggs. From recruiting and compensating donors to safely retrieving, screening and freezing the eggs, a lot goes into providing healthy, high-quality eggs. The cost also covers our support services, such as guidance, and ensuring legal compliance. This includes securing Pregnancy Slots, European Egg Bank’s system for reserving the right to use a donor, so we can manage and respect family limits.

What package should you choose?

The right package for you depends on how many eggs you need for successful treatment and whether you want the option to have more children using the same donor’s eggs in the future. We recommend discussing these factors with your chosen fertility clinic. They will be in a position to provide advice and guidance based on your personal situation and needs.

Frequently asked questions about pricing and options

A Pregnancy Slot gives you the right to use the same egg donor for multiple children, so you can use the same donor’s eggs for potential siblings in the future. It’s our way of managing and respecting family limits nationally and globally. However, owning a Pregnancy Slot does not guarantee that your preferred donor will have eggs available in the future. We recommend choosing the Extended Package and storing additional eggs if you want the option to have more children using your donor’s eggs at a later date.

An oocyte is an immature female gamete produced in the ovaries. It develops into a mature egg cell, or ovum. After fertilisation by a sperm cell, it forms a zygote. Fertility specialists will often use the terms oocyte and egg interchangeably.

When a person donates to European Egg Bank, they are donating an oocyte that can be fertilised using Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs).

Our Essential and Extended Packages do not include the cost of your fertility treatment, which will typically be payable to the clinic. Your chosen fertility clinic will have its own fee structure and determine whether any additional payments are required.

We recommend discussing the total cost of treatment with your clinic to ensure complete transparency. Additionally, our packages do not include the cost of shipping donor eggs to your clinic of choice.

The number of eggs you need depends on your personal fertility health and what will give you the best chance of a successful treatment outcome. Your fertility clinic will be able to provide you with personalised guidance.

How many eggs you require will also be influenced by whether you want the option to have more children using the same donor’s eggs in the future. If this is a possibility, we recommend choosing our Extended Package and storing additional eggs for later use.

The cost of IVF using donor eggs depends on the country in which treatment takes place, how many cycles are needed, the medical tests required, the medications used, and your fertility clinic’s fee structure. In some countries, a set number of IVF rounds is covered by the public health system, and some health insurance policies also cover aspects of fertility treatment.
