Known Carrier Match – genetic matching for donor egg treatment

Known Carrier Match helps determine whether your selected donor carries the same genetic condition as you. By comparing your genetic carrier report with the donor’s genetic profile, we can help reduce the risk of passing on certain inherited conditions to your future child.

What is Known Carrier Match?

Known Carrier Match is a genetic matching service for people using donor eggs for fertility treatment. It compares your genetic carrier report with the genetic information for your selected egg donor.

The purpose is to help reduce the risk of passing on a known inherited condition to your future child by checking whether you and the donor carry the same relevant genetic variants.

We offer Known Carrier Match in collaboration with Igenomix, a laboratory specialised in genetic matching.

Why choose genetic matching?

Reduce known genetic risks

We compare your carrier report with the donor's to identify whether you share carrier status for the same condition.

What does a match mean?

A match means that your chosen egg donor is not identified as a carrier of the same genetic condition listed in your report.

Genetic matching is highly accurate, but no test can remove all risk. A small residual risk will always remain, as some rare or spontaneous genetic changes cannot be detected.
